Daily Prompt: Snark Bombs, Away!
Try your hand at parody or satire — take an article, film, blog post, or song you find misguided, and use humor to show us how.
I do admire those with rigid political affiliations. Whether they unfailingly vote Liberal, Labour, Republican, Democrat, or a party by any other name, they have obviously given serious and prolonged thought to the best interests of their country and, indeed, the world. Change of any sort, domestic or global, does not deflect them: they will go to their graves secure in the knowledge that they have been true to the cause, however misguided, inept, unreliable or downright corrupt that cause may have proved to be.
Without these undeviating supporters, no political party would feel secure. Governments would be forced to keep their promises; oppositions would need to strive constantly for validity. And worst of all, politicians themselves might be held accountable for their behaviour – a tyranny unheard of since the lamentable affair of Caesar’s wife.
It saddens me that I am unable to join the ranks of these commendably certain political adherents. But however committed I might be to the holy grail of commitment itself, I find myself thinking.
Never a good look.
