Daily post: Standstill

For a moment today, time stands still — but you can tweak one thing while it’s stopped. What do you do?

Don’t think I can do this.

If you want to be King James biblical about it, To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Or if you prefer something secular, see Pete Seeger’s folk version. They both say the same thing: don’t fiddle with the metaphysics.

Easy for me to say, of course. I’m a whole lot older than most of you. But if things had happened as I wanted them to at the time – or if the things I’d wanted had happened – life would have been a whole lot messier than it was, which believe me is saying something.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
