About me
I'm a freelance writer - fiction, nonfiction and anything else that happens to tango its way through my mind. That's for me, and I've won a competition or two, and been published in a range of media. To keep the wolf from the door, I also edit, proofread and write for other people. Love it all. Aren't I lucky?

Daily post: Seven words. Or alternatively…
DAILY PROMPT: SEVEN WONDERS Khalil Gibran once said that people will never understand one another unless language is reduced to seven words. What would your seven words be? Why don’t we just revert to grunting? Easier all round, I would … Continue reading
Daily post: The leaden hour
DAILY PROMPT: THE GOLDEN HOUR 6:00AM: the best hour of the day, or too close to your 3:00AM bedtime? 6:00am is not civilised. Yes, I realise that objectively, it offers a lot: the pristine promise of an apricot sky lighting … Continue reading

Daily post: Simply the best of what?
DAILY PROMPT: SIMPLY THE BEST NASA is building a new Voyager spacecraft that will carry the best of modern human culture. What belongs onboard? What are we trying to do here, distribute largesse to the indigenous terrestrial pagans? Give them … Continue reading

Toot…tooo…T…squeak…Aah shit. That’s me blowing my own trumpet. Zzzzzz… That’s me and infomercials. http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/10/23/daily-prompt-late/
Daily post: Sad but true…
Oh my goodness! Pick one? Just one? One glorious, immortal bloom from a garden so bursting with criticism it catches the breath? Or punches the gut, if one were prone to semantic quibbling in the face of such dazzling and … Continue reading
Daily post: ‘Fire’ is the new ‘No’…
…which is eerily, tragically appropriate for NSW, my Australian home state, where 62 bushfires are burning, 13 of them out of control, and winds of up to 100kph are expected tomorrow. The most ferocious fire is in the Blue Mountains … Continue reading
