IBQ: Solitude

Solitude is a beach.

The promise of sunise…

board riders at dusk…

They slide like seals into an evening sea mellow with dying sun
and sharp with the tang of salt, seductive as dreams in poppy fields:
pilgrims trekking the hostile tide to nirvana beyond the break,
to drift alone in their shining world between alpha and omega,
day and the dark, earth and infinity, now and forever…
Disciples riding the swell at the gates of Gethsemane,
waiting for the word…
waiting to swoop the face of the perfect wave
that will hurl them into salvation
