Daily prompt: Don’t let the turkeys get you down

Daily Prompt
Call Me Ishmael
Take the first sentence from your favorite book and make it the first sentence of your post.

I don’t have a favourite book, which means I’m pretty much stymied from the start. Depends on the day, really. What do I feel like today? Worthy and thought provoking? (Not very often, these days.) Gripping mystery? Thriller? Fluff? So many choices!

But that’s OK. You can have this instead.

Here we go round the mulberry bush
On a cold and frosty morning,
Plodding around for the sake of our health
When the day is barely dawning.

This is the way we get chilblains and frostbite
On fingers and toes and ears
And all for no reason that I can determine
When all of it bores me to tears.

There’s trouble enough in the daily round
Without this gratuitous guff.
Let’s dig in our heels. In corpore sano
Be buggered. Enough is Enough!

Great word, “stymied.” I also do not really have a favourite book, as I am not much of a reader… I would much rather write than read.

Love your take on the rhyme and your thoughts on the post!
