DAILY PROMPT
Underestimate
- Never underestimate the power of prayer – but bear in mind that most formal prayers end with if it be Thy gracious will, indicating that the Almighty retains the power of veto.
- Never underestimate the power of money. If all else fails, it will buy you a gold-plated coffin.
- Never underestimate the self-interest of politicians. (No explanation needed.)
- Never underestimate the power of boredom. It can kick-start your creativity to preserve your sanity.
- Never underestimate the power of Arduino. I don’t know what it is exactly, but judging by the things my son-in-law comes up with, it’s pretty impressive.
- Never underestimate the capacity of one’s garage. It can house the car and a 3D Print factory.
- Never underestimate the stresses involved in buying a house. Mortgage providers want to know when you last cut your toenails, and what you earned on May 2 1999.
- Never underestimate the power of words. Personally, I’d prefer sticks and stones.
- Never underestimate the wisdom of the aged. They no longer care if you find the truth offensive.
- Never underestimate a toddler’s ability to state the obvious at the least appropriate moment. They don’t care either.
- Never underestimate nature’s ability to rain on your parade. It has a warped sense of humour.
- Never underestimate the joy of a warm puppy.
- Never underestimate the convoluted labyrinths of your son-in-law’s idiosyncratic intelligence. His contributions:
Don’t spit into the wind.
Don’t pee on an electric fence.
Don’t eat yellow snow.
Yeah, that fence thing. Good advice.
😀
I would never underestimate the horror of moving. They will bury me here. The idea of moving unless someone carries me out? Unthinkable.
My attitude exactly! My daughter and her husband are doing the moving, and that’s stressful enough
These are all so true and I love the humor. I am especially partial to #9 and 10.
Glad you enjoyed them. We had a lot of fun coming up with them – and several more I thought were best left out!
